Stainless Steel 904L plates are extremely resistant to chloride in environment due to lower pitting and crevice corrosion, and also to stress corrosion cracking. The L in 904L stands for Low Carbon, in particular, that the carbon added in the alloy is 0.03 or less. The 904L grade is good both in cold and hot forms, but is hard to work with when working in cold.
